the 'Opening Night'
The Arte Laguna Prize is a competition that welcomes artists of all ages, nationalities, and artistic backgrounds, with no gender distinctions and an open theme. It comprises 10 categories and features 120 finalists/nominees from over 80 countries.
The jury verdict for duo work#art: 'Dear Bert and Douwe, the jury has considered your work of great relevance and you have been selected as finalist.'
Since only 10 minutes were allocated for ‘performances’—leaving no room for the complete work—we immediately began with an alternative version of *The Centre*, utilizing an overhead film projection. Douwe writes within the frame of the film, and the audience views the performance in three dimensions thanks to 3D glasses.
Thanks to 'The Walking Feet', which it turned out they still remembered there, space is now available to us for three weeks at MoCa, an affiliated Gallery for Contemporary Art, in another part of the Arsenale.
